Pretty Plain Janes is a celebration of regular women living extraordinary. Our mission is to inspire something “pretty” into the everyday. Here are who we are:

Wife to Sticky (not his given name but it certainly “fits”) and mommy to a pretty lil Jettie girl. We have a dog, a cat, a white picket fence (just kidding). We dwell in small town Ohio where we own a photography business as well as design/sales for my family’s business Stephanie Dawn. I truly “heart” NYC, love food (cooking and eating) and can’t dance or sing to save my life. A perfect day includes an outdoor market, slice of margherita pizza and a cozy corner booth.

Fashion has been an important part of my life since before I can remember.  I love having somewhere to go, gives me the chance to rev up the creative juices, fine tune my style and “shop my closet”.  Sharing my love for fashion and style is something I have become passionate about.  Hopefully you will find inspiration to infuse into your own closet and most importantly unique style.

Mommy, wife, ultimate girlie girl, cosmetologist, Seinfeld addict, Golden Girl at heart, chocolate lover, and a sucker for my husbands cooking. I’m a small town girl living in the Midwest, with big city dreams, but loving my comfortable roots. It all started when boy (Seth) met girl (me, of course), fell in love, got married, had our first baby girl, Althea, and then 22 months later had our second baby girl, Vada! We laugh a lot, love a lot more and run around like crazy chickens! Our life is wild and fun, and we are no fairy tale prince and princess but I sure love our story.

Can you tell my life is surrounded by fairy tale movies, pretty princesses, and pixie dust? It’s the heart and soul of who I am. The everyday bippity-boppity-boo, the creative edge, and pretty things that make me tick. It’s a blessing I was given two beautiful girls, thus allowing me to have dress up, hair and makeup sessions everyday, and even an occasional magic wand casting one of us into a frog. There is definitely never a dull moment in our home!

I dreamed of being a cosmetologist, hairstylist, and make-up artist as a little girl. I like to think of myself as a little bit of a beauty connoisseur. As a little girl I wouldn’t leave the stores without, “pretties,” which meant, dresses, makeup, and fancy costume jewelry. I never left the house without my hair all fancy, even when I was 2. So you can imagine that lives true to now, ok, most of the time! So what better way to have a little vacation from day-to-day fairy tales than to team up with two other creative, smart, talented, and beautiful women and be… Pretty Plain Janes!

I’m just a simple girl who enjoys living life to the fullest with the man I call mine (Josh) and the sweet girl we adore (Adelynn). Most of my time is spent daydreaming about exciting flavor combinations for my baking business- Flour Loves Sugar. Adventure has taught me to treasure the important things in life and never stop exploring. I believe in following your heart and chasing even the craziest of dreams!

Baking should be FUN and some rules are made to be broken! Through this blog I hope to inspire creations that will bring happiness both in the kitchen- and in life.
